Ohhh, what the hell. Found this ancient (really, it's very old) picture while looking for something in a folder of old art of mine, and still loved it so much that I thought I'd share.

Anyway. For those of you going 'WTF', I better explain. This is Smitheroth, aka Waylon Smithers as Sephiroth. Several years ago I wrote a goofy fanfic called 'Frinky Fantasy', which was basically a Simpsons-character spoof of 'Final Fantasy VII'. This is a picture I did of the central villain. You gotta admit, the character is a fit. His sword is the Mamamia (I'm such a riot).

The funny angle of the sword aside, I'm still proud of this pic. Just how old is it? I took the sketch and traced & colored it in Flash 4, which is how I finished pictures before getting Photoshop. Yeah, that old.

No, he was simply another cardboard cutout "cool villian with a sort-of tragic kind-of past". That's even worse. I think FF7 would have ultimately been better if it was about Hojo's career as [i]onnagatta[/i], but that's a sexual perversion for another day.
