Heyyy, remember that monstery guy I came up with a few days ago? Well, I've finally tweaked his design, and come up with a bit of stuff.
Created for *ladydragona's and *Dumpysaurus's monster collaboration project Bridgeport, 'Nel' Foster is a young man of unfortunate birth and little experience.
The son of a human woman and fiery demon (there's a bit of 'Dunwich Horror' influence here, I'll admit it), Nel is a hybrid and not too happy about it. His mom was one of those believers in magic and strange, dark things who would be quite happy to see all sorts of monsters go to town on the world, and was quite proud to bring a 'bridge' between two different worlds into this one.
Because of the nature of Nel's hybridism (he has to concentrate and force his body to hold either a full human or full demon form; Nel's natural state is a between form that often shifts slightly one way or the other), his mother home-schooled the boy and kept him locked in the house a lot, only taking him out on occasion as a treat when he practiced holding his human form. She also tried to teach him all she knew about dark things and how to go about wrecking havoc on the world when he was a big boy, but Nel wasn't too keen on this.
When he was 15 or so (two years ago), Nel finally got fed up with all this and ran away from home (either Southern California or New Mexico), and eventually made his way up to the North-West, where Bridgeport is. He eventually found the monstrous boarding house there, and because of his upbringing, general fear and general teenageness, tends to spend a lot of time deep indoors, watching TV, reading or playing video games. Sometimes he'll venture outside at night, or even during the day, when curiousity gets the best of him.
A lot of stuff is already explained (particularly on the character sheet), but to reiterate: Nel is a painfully shy and socially awkward young man thanks to his upbringing and origins, and has trouble relating to people and dealing with strangers. He doesn't do anything extravagent out of fear of exploding into a big demony mess in public, and lounges about mostly-shirtless all day. He has a whole load of coming to terms with himself to do.
And that's that! Though I'm sure I've forgotten something. I'm pretty pleased with how this came out.

Immediate instant love! The idea that he has to concentrate to stay in full human or full demon shape is great and makes sense since he's a halfbreed.
